Adding a Data Contract as a member to another Data Contract

Jul 10, 2009 at 8:43 PM

All,

Actually i have two data contracts DCA and DCB.

Now i want to add two primitive data types to DCA as well as DCB as a members.

In WSSF i cant add only primitve data types as members to a data contract. how can i add another data contract as a member to a data contract?

Thanks,

Naveen.

If both DCs are part of the same model, you can point DCB->DCA (connect tool) so that will create in DCA a reference to DCB (code gen as a property of type DCB).

Thanks Hernan.

Is there anyway to achive the same functionality if the data contracts are in different models?

Hi Naveen,

There's no graphical way to reference two DCs from separate models. However you can try something from the text templates files by adding this reference programatically like described in the "Cross-Model References" (Service Factory Architecture topic) section of the documentation (chm file) included in the source installation.
