Does anyone know if there are plans for VS 2010 support?  I am currently using the beta and would really love to get WSSF:ME working with it soon.

Thanks.

We're definitely going to be releasing a version of the Service Factory on VS2010. Although, the first thing we have to do is get GAT/GAX working on VS2010. We're going to start that work around the Release Candidate timeframe (not sure exactly when that is, but it's probably in the second half of the calendar year :). After we get GAT/GAX updated, we'll begin working to get the Service Factory updated with the goal of releasing it within 30 days of the release of VS2010.

There is a little more detail in this blog entry: http://blogs.msdn.com/donsmith/archive/2009/02/25/on-the-subject-of-software-factories.aspx

Hope this helps,
Don

Is there any news on this front? Beta 2 is now out and i't has a go-live license. Does this mean that you are working on this or not yet?

We first have to get GAX updated to VS2010 and we're in the process of doing that now. We hope to have early drops of GAX by the end of the calendar year so we can begin testing/migrating the factories and guidance packages. Our plan to have GAT/GAX and our 3 factories released within 30 days of the VS2010 release date.

Thanks,
Don

What is the roadmap (in general) for this Web Service Software Factory releases? In the sense, how long the development is committed to happen and how will be the bug fixes released?

Here is an update I posted a little while ago: http://blogs.msdn.com/simplifying_patterns_and_practices/archive/2009/11/05/factories-on-visual-studio-2010-an-update.aspx

Things are going really well so far. We hope to be able to share an early build of GAX with the community in mid-January. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Don

Hi,

Are there any news about GAX VS2010 Update, and where it will be posted?

Hi,

more than three month ago without any news update on GAT/GAX for VS2010 and no roadmap entry on the p&p future release list (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/teamsystem/bb232643.aspx). That makes us worried...what's going on? Are you still committed to it? Please reply.

Hi Andy,

There will be a GAX/GAT for VS2010 any time soon and after that we'll release the version for WSSF 2010 so don't worry and stay tunned for the upcomming releases (March/April 2010). Perhaps Don can add some more details.

Thanks,

Hernan

PS: I will post further details of WSSF 2010 here and on my blog.

Sorry about the delay Andy. We've actually been working really hard on the update - it's just taken us a while to get something news-worthy - until now. As I type this I'm waiting for the VSIXs of GAT and GAX to come back from the signing process so I can publish them as release candidates to the VS Gallery. This should happen in the next couple of days. In the meantime, I'm in the process of authoring a larger update about the whole effort (GAX+factories) to publish on the p&p blog. Should happen this week.

Thanks for the inquiry. Let us know if you need anything else.

Yes, we published an update last week: http://cut.ms/Ozu (check the first comment). GAT & GAX 2010 RC are available today and we'll be rolling out the factories over the next few weeks.

Please keep an eye on the p&p blog for updates.

Thanks!
Don
