Service does not work after various Win2003 updates last night

Hello folks,

Our Win2k3 Server running our WCF-based server hosted on IIS6 has been updated by some "regular" updates from Microsoft last night. Including .NET 2.x and .NET 3.x plus some security patches....

Since then, our webservice does NOT WORK anymore. IIS6 keeps logging and returning to client the error HTTP 405 ("Method not allowed") for WebService calls.

We did not change a thing, not in server code and not in client.

I already restarted things couple of times.
Also I tried on the server aspnet_regiis.exe /i and ServiceModelReg.exe /i
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

Actually, I cannot explain why but I solved it this way:

In IIS6 Manager, add the .svc extension to the Application Mapping and direct it to the aspnet_isapi.dll.

I know for sure, that this entry was available but vanished some how...

Sorry for bothering you, but maybe others find this helpful.

Cheers
Martin
