Q & A

This page is a place to get answers to common questions about the Service Factory. We'll continue to move questions and answers from the discussion forum to this page but, if you have a question you feel will apply to the whole Service Factory community, feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this page. If the Service Factory team feels it is appropriate, we'll move it up to the page, answer it, and delete the comment. If your question doesn't make it to the page and your comment gets deleted, we'll post your question and answer to the discussion forum. Thanks.

I was using Web Service Software Factory to create services. While creating Host Designer Model, I added an End Point to the Service Reference. I could see that I can only specify two types of bindings on this endpoint -
BasicHttpBinding and WSHttpBinding.

Is there no option to specify the other binding types like -
WSDualHttpBinding, WSFederationBinding, NetTcpBinding, NetNamedPipeBinding, NetMsmqBinding, MsmqIntegrationBinding, NetPeerTcpBinding, WebHttpBinding?

hey folks, I get stuff like the following in the Output window. Am I missing a project template? Any pointers to that?
.\WebServiceSoftwareFactory\Service Factory Guidance Package\Guidance Package\Service Factory Guidance Package.csproj : error : The project file '.\WebServiceSoftwareFactory\Service Factory Guidance Package\Guidance Package\Service Factory Guidance Package.csproj' cannot be opened.

The project type is not supported by this installation.

C:\tfsno\WebServiceSoftwareFactory\Data Contract DSL\Dsl\DataContractDsl.csproj : error : Unable to read the project file 'DataContractDsl.csproj'.

Is there available any tool to convert old (vs2008) data and service contracts models to this version?
We have many models and we do not want to do it manually.

I am Faisal Shahzad. I am new to WSSF. i want to know how to build asmx web service in WSSF for Visual Studion 2008 release. I have gone through some tutorials in which they say everything for asmx web service is the same except when you come to implementation technology choice i.e. WCF or ASMX. i have done that as well but m still not clear of how to build and consume .asmx web service using WSSF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
