I like the design surface, HATE the obtuse errors resulting from tiny typos. Get one letter wrong in the Service Reference definition name, and nulls are returned from the service...no error. Get one XML namespace wrong, and the UpdateService right click results in crazy warnings and errors which seem unrelated. Some sort of sanity checking would be wonderful. One issue with Building-Exercise7.pdf is that in step #1 it should indicate to right-click on the Model Project (looks like the solution file name in that step). The New Host Designer menu is only available under a Model project type. This name is too long and creating it gives errors. After that the tutorial cannot be followed. 
Use shorter name like "BYA"

One benefit of this release seems to be that it is possible to upgrade from VS2008 to VS2010 without loosing the references between servicecontracts and datacontracts.
